Description during the war and the presence of 12 old Kushi settlements right after the US military took control over has recently been published in a book titled “History of Nago Compilation 3 – Nago/Yanbaru’s Battle of Okinawa*”. Records of during and post war of old Kushi settlement is very scarce and valuable. The locations of where the bombs were dropped, detailed locations of supply stations and load masters according to maps and testimonies has been compiled for the first time. The book took over 11 years in the making with tesimonies from over 400 war survivors covering how the Battle of Okinawa was in the Yanbaru district.
